Week 12
Today I put together my digipak images into the six different panels to show why each one would go there. Today I created a PowerPoint of my digipak analysis, this included every single image of the digipak and why I chose it and what connotations does it include. Today I edited and uploaded the behind the scenes for when we went to take pictures of out character for the digipak in the park. This was done on a Saturday morning around 1:00pm. After getting feedback from my focus group on my ancillary tasks i also went and updated my ancillary tasks, as you can see the updates are pretty drastic as I wanted to take my feedback extremley seriously.

Week 11
I created a PowerPoint today showing how my video can be promoted. This included promoting on YouTube, Facebook, and Vimeo. Not only did I explain why it would be a good idea, I also explained the issues with some of the promotion methods. Today I created a email to a copyright holder. This was to actually use the song Superheroes by The Script. I also created a copyright email to WanDa Pictures to use the movie SouhtPaw in our music video.

Week 10
Today I spoke about research summary on music videos. So from since I have been doing research what have I come to learn. All of this is included in this document. Today I created a PowToon document for lyrics analysis. So for a set amount of lyrics I have writing what I think the artist is trying to say subliminally. Today I created a prezi to show the history of music. It’s a timeline which goes from 1926 when you had to go to a cinema to listen to music all the way to 2010 when you have songs like Wrecking ball which uses voyeurism to get recognition. Today I created a moodbaord that I thought would attract the target audience which is teenagers.

Equipment
Below are the equipment that my group will need to shoot the music video. It is very important that we remember to bring the equipment as without this we would not be able to film so we made sure we had a check list of all the equipment along with a group chat on whatsapp to remind everyone just in case.
Tripod:

We will need a tripod so we have steady, pan, and tilt shots which would make it look professional and clear. We also made sure someone was holding the camera on the tripod at all time to avoid any damage or setbacks to our project.

Our protagonist for the music video will be wearing the similar types of clothing for most of the music video:

The artist of the music video is wearing smart school clothing as he is in school for most part of the music video so he would have to wear formal clothing. This is also quite fashionable in school.
The antagonist of the music video who is the bully is wearing a hat turned around to look cool and powerful. This hat connotes what kind of person he is and how he would generally act in school trying to be the cool rude kid of the school. So costume shows and tells the audience a lot about who they are and can also show how they fit into a certain location.

Week 9
Today I created my recce, in the recce list I spoke about health and safety, equipment access, power supplies, natural and artificial lighting, permission to film, space and filming possibilities, and area for shooting which included cast and equipment. Today I created my creative influence video. In this I took sections of music videos and edited it into on video and had a written analysis included. I chose, Ed-sheeran – A Team, Hall of fame and no love. Today I created a risk assessment document, in this document I spoke about the hazard, who may be in harm, what property is in harm, how to prevent the risk and I rated the risk from low to high.
Creative Influences
I
watched many music videos, I was influenced by one video in particular which
was Eminem ft Lil Wayne - No Love. It's not so much the music but what the
music video represents, the story told within. Some of the shots that were
incorporated into the music video can be assimilated into our video. For
example in the music video you have a close up of the young boys face which
shows his emotions due to his facial expressions and also his bruise that you
can see under the left eye. This would work really well without music video
because we also have a similar story within the music where the life of a male
character goes from bad to good. One of the shots I wanted to assimilate into
our video was when the bruised child makes contact with three bullies, I wanted
a low angle from in between his legs looking up at the bullies which shows that
he is inferior to them.
Another
music video that caught my eye was Hall of Fame, this is because you can see
that in the music video two lives are portrayed. We want to focus more on the
negative side where the male character wakes up in a dingy bed and goes out for
a jog and runs into trouble where he is beaten up. This would relate to our
video because the characters life goes from negative to positive in the lyrics
therefore we can do similar things in this video. During the negative side of
the character a lot of dark colors are used, this connotes the bad life the
character has.
Finally
the last video that intrigued me was Ed Sheeran - A Team this is because we see
a homeless person at the beginning sleeping on a park bench with a black and
white filter which connotes the sad, tough life they are living. However this
video does not end on a positive note, therefore we will only be using certain
shots from this videos such as the sleeping on the bench and the sitting on the
street begging shot. We will add out own positive end to our video such as her
begging and someone gives her 5 pounds which she uses to buy food and a lottery
ticket. She ends up winning and then we film shots of the main character giving
back to the community, helping all types of homeless people and creating a
campaign or charity for homelessness.

Pitch Ideas
I had to come up with different ideas for my music video for 'superheroes' by The Script. The first idea I came up with was about a young teenager having hard time at school because of dyslexia and also having parents at home which were constantly shouting and abusing him because of being weak and doing bad in school in terms of grades and generally having no friends. Then art becomes his best friend and slowly does good and then paints a perfect picture of a superhero which gets him the highest grade possibly which impresses his parents and teachers.
The second idea I had was quite similar to getting bad grades but being weak by getting bullied in school and getting stronger because of the lyrics (looking at lyrical analysis I did), so he would be boxing or working out to become stronger to stand up for himself against the bully over time.

Week 8
Today I created a prezi on audience profile. I chose to talk about Facebook, twitter and Instagram. On each social media I showed a profile which shows how out target audience uses social media when it comes to music. Today I done research into institutions and spoke about EMI Music, Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music and Warner Music institution. Today we recorded a focus task where we spoke about our ancillary tasks and our group gave us questions and feedback on how we could improve.

Week 7
Today I created another PowToon on the typical conventions of a music advert. Today I created a PowerPoint on Andrew Goodwin’s theory of music videos. In it I spoke about music video style and iconography, voyeurism, contradicting lyrics and relationship between visuals and music. Today I created a shot list which shows the angle of the shot, what’s happening in the scene, where the shot needs to be taken and what characters are included in the scene.

Week 6
Today I constructed my storyboard which consisted of 34 pages with 4 shots on each page. Due to the research I was able to use the codes and conventions used for storyboards in my storyboard. On each shot I included the shot number, the angle of the shot and what is supposed to happen in the shot. As I had researched about the codes and conventions of the storyboards I thought I would make a PowToon presentation about it so today I created a presentation of the typical storyboard codes and conventions and also included my storyboard too.

Week 5
Today I constructed my ancillary task in which I created a 6 panel digipak and a music poster. This was hand drawn and scanned onto my blog. I used the typical codes and conventions of digipaks and music posters after the research I had done on it. I even started constructing the back panel of the digipak using Photoshop. After this was done I had analysed my ancillary tasks to explain exactly why I had chosen to use the certain things I used.

Week 4
Today I created a survey to get to know my target audience and what they like and what they would like to see. Some questions asks for the person taking the surveys age, favourite genre, occupation and what they would want to see in the music video. After this was done I analysed the survey using graphs and annotation. For each question I showed the results and explained why we are choosing certain locations, costumes and characters. It was all to please the audience.

Week 3
Today I analysed music posters, I first introduced what I was going to do, and then I explained the codes and conventions of typical music posters. First I analysed Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 poster, then a Jessie J poster, then a Florence and the Machine poster and finally two Beyonce posters. In each one I explained what makes it a poster and how it attracts target audience.

Week 2
Today I created a power point in which I analysed many different digipaks of other famous artists. I analysed Eminem’s recovery album cover, Eminem’s single when I’m gone cover, Rihanna – Russian roulette cover, Drake take care cover, Drake started from the bottom cover, Chris brown exclusive album cover and finally Chris browns single don’t judge me single cover. In all these covers I wrote 4 paragraphs showing why it is seen as an album cover and what attracts the specific target audience.

Week 1
During week one of media I recreated a poster for the music artist including a detailed analysis of what happened after each edit and why. Today I analysed 5 music videos, this included me downloading the video taking the specific parts that I needed to include in the analysis and then done a voice over for each video which was the analysis. The five videos I chose to analyse were Sia – Elastic Heart, Eminem ft Lil Wayne – No Love, Robin – Pieces, Ed Sheeran – thinking out loud, and Nickelback – photograph. I posted a link to my AS media blog too.
